Emily is consistently the best part of my experience at Antioch Pizza. She’s quick, friendly, and always gets everything right. Employees like her are the reason I keep coming back. The place wouldn’t be the same without her!

Grew up on Giordano's, Barraco's, and Palermo's in Chicago. Never heard of Antioch Pizza Shop while I lived up North, but a few friends that still live up there seem to like it, so thought I'd give the new Tuscaloosa location a try. Overall, not bad. They get a lot right, but they're also getting a few things wrong, and I hope that's only because they're new and going through growing pains. Prices were fair, but the wall menu was all over the place, and the handheld menu wasn't much better. Probably even more confusing after a few beers. Their regular pizza is probably the best you'll find in Tuscaloosa. Tastes Chicago good, but is a little greasier than it needs to be. I can live with that if they serve it on a plate that doesn't fall apart a minute after they put two slices on it. Forks would have been nice, too, but all they had available were spoons and knives. Staff weren't keeping up on things. Morons throwing away the forks probably didn't help. I liked their regular pizza enough that I'll probably go back to try their deep dish - although I didn't see "deep dish" on the menu. Only pan and stuffed, which means different things to different people (go to Giordano's or Barraco's websites for reference). A deep dish pizza takes about 40 minutes to bake. The kid working the register thought it might take less time if they weren't busy. Hopefully, the manager will explain it to her some day in order to manage customer expectations. Places like Tortuga's in Birmingham will let you call before you get there, as they take 40 minutes, minimum, to produce a deep dish pizza. As of the first week of November, 2025, no beer, so if you plan on doing their whole pan or stuffed (ask which one they consider deep dish), prepare to occupy your time for 40 minutes while you wait. Restaurant/bar, or fast food joint? If they're going to offer whole pizzas, especially deep dish, that's a meal for a family or a group of friends and would warrant the restaurant experience. If they're going to sell-by-the-slice on flimsy paper plates and give you the thinnest plastic cups for drinks, that's a different experience. Affordable, but different. The place needs to figure out which one it wants to be, or try to do both, separately, eventually. Aesthetics and atmosphere aside, this is probably the best pizza in town. They do the pizza part right.

Legit Chicago deep dish pizza. Just one slice is a meal (keep that in mind when ordering, and before you get upset about the high prices). Quality toppings topped off with good sauce, though there could be more of it to cut through the dense and doughy crust and ample mozzarella. Definitely worth a try.

Definitely gotta come check this place out on Tuesday or Thursday if you’re interested in getting a killer sandwich. The blonde kid, I believe they call him sandwich Matt or something along those lines, back there making them is a real good guy and makes one heck of an Italian beef.

Been in Tuscaloosa for 4 years now, by far the best pizza I’ve had since being here. Great Chicago Style, the Italian beef rocks, and the milkshakes are amazing. Mikey is great dude and has a great spot. Go check them out asap.

Holy cow! What awesome Chicago style deep dish pizza! Ordered a deep dish supreme and a thin crust. The deep dish was so thick and full of toppings. We ended up sharing leftovers with neighbors and coworkers because we had too much. Will definitely be back.

Antioch has been open only 3 weeks and I've already been twice. Their customer service is always friendly and their workers are very knowledgeable. Their pizza is always hot and cheesy. I'm not from Chicago but I can tell you that they are definitely in my top 5 favorite pizza places in the area. I pass numerous pizza shops just to go to them, they feel like I'm eating homemade pizza right at my house. I can wait to try their other dishes.

Antioch Pizza Shop was like having a slice of Chicago and hits a homerun in my book. The thin crust italian sausage and cheese was truly Chicago style pizza. I can't wait to try the other offerings. No slight to anyone else's pizza, but the taste was outstanding and authentic. My wife and I will definitely be coming back for more. The service was great and I really enjoyed speaking with the owner.
